Terms used
“Personal data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (hereinafter “data subject”); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier (e.g. a cookie) or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.
“Processing” means any operation or set of operations performed on personal data, whether or not by automated means. The term is broad and covers practically any handling of data.
“Pseudonymisation” means the processing of personal data in such a manner that the personal data can no longer be attributed to a specific data subject without the use of additional information, provided that such additional information is kept separately and is subject to technical and organisational measures to ensure that the personal data are not attributed to an identified or identifiable natural person.
“Profiling” means any form of automated processing of personal data consisting of the use of personal data to evaluate certain personal aspects relating to a natural person, in particular to analyse or predict aspects concerning that natural person's performance at work, economic situation, health, personal preferences, interests, reliability, behaviour, location or movements.
“Controller” means the natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.
“Processor” means a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which processes personal data on behalf of the controller.
Relevant legal bases
In accordance with Art. 13 DSGVO, we inform you of the legal bases of our data processing. Where the legal basis is not stated in the privacy policy, the following applies: the legal basis for obtaining consent is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a and Art. 7 DSGVO; the legal basis for processing in order to provide our services and carry out contractual measures and to respond to enquiries is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO; the legal basis for processing in order to comply with our legal obligations is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c DSGVO; and the legal basis for processing in order to safeguard our legitimate interests is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. Where the vital interests of the data subject or of another natural person make the processing of personal data necessary, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. d DSGVO serves as the legal basis.
Security measures
In accordance with Art. 32 DSGVO, taking into account the state of the art, the costs of implementation and the nature, scope, context and purposes of processing, as well as the risk of varying likelihood and severity for the rights and freedoms of natural persons, we implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk.
These measures include, in particular, safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data by controlling physical access to the data, as well as access to, input, disclosure, securing the availability and separation of the data. We have also established procedures to ensure that data subjects' rights can be exercised, that data are deleted and that we respond to threats to the data. Furthermore, we take the protection of personal data into account as early as the development or selection of hardware, software and procedures, in line with the principle of data protection by design and by data-protection-friendly default settings (Art. 25 DSGVO).
Cooperation with processors and third parties
Where, in the course of our processing, we disclose data to other persons and companies (processors or third parties), transmit data to them or otherwise grant them access to the data, this takes place only on the basis of a statutory permission (e.g. if a transfer of the data to third parties, such as payment service providers, is necessary for the performance of a contract pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO), if you have consented, if a legal obligation provides for this or on the basis of our legitimate interests (e.g. when using agents, web hosts, etc.).
Where we commission third parties to process data on the basis of a so-called “data processing agreement”, this is done on the basis of Art. 28 DSGVO.
Transfers to third countries
Where we process data in a third country (i.e. outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA)), or where this occurs in the context of using third-party services or disclosing or transferring data to third parties, this only takes place if it is done to fulfil our (pre-)contractual obligations, on the basis of your consent, on the basis of a legal obligation or on the basis of our legitimate interests. Subject to statutory or contractual permissions, we process data in a third country, or have them processed there, only if the special conditions of Art. 44 et seq. DSGVO are met. This means, for example, that processing takes place on the basis of special guarantees, such as the officially recognised determination of a level of data protection equivalent to that of the EU (e.g. for the USA through the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework”) or compliance with officially recognised special contractual obligations (so-called “standard contractual clauses”).
Rights of data subjects
You have the right to request confirmation as to whether data concerning you are being processed, and to access to these data as well as further information and a copy of the data in accordance with Art. 15 DSGVO.
You have, in accordance with. Art. 16 DSGVO, the right to request the completion of data concerning you or the rectification of inaccurate data concerning you.
In accordance with Art. 17 DSGVO, you have the right to request that the data concerned be erased without undue delay or, alternatively, in accordance with Art. 18 DSGVO, to request restriction of the processing of the data.
You have the right to receive the data concerning you that you have provided to us in accordance with Art. 20 DSGVO and to request that they be transmitted to other controllers.
You also have the right, pursuant to Art. 77 DSGVO, to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw consent you have given, pursuant to Art. 7 para. 3 DSGVO, with effect for the future
Right to object
You may object to the future processing of data concerning you at any time in accordance with Art. 21 DSGVO. The objection may in particular be made against processing for the purposes of direct marketing.
Cookies and right to object to direct marketing
“Cookies” are small files that are stored on users' computers. Various items of information can be stored within cookies. A cookie serves primarily to store information about a user (or the device on which the cookie is stored) during or after their visit to an online offering. Temporary cookies, or “session cookies” or “transient cookies”, are cookies that are deleted after a user leaves an online offering and closes their browser. Such a cookie may store, for example, the contents of a shopping basket in an online shop or a login status. Cookies that remain stored even after the browser has been closed are referred to as “permanent” or “persistent”. In this way, for example, the login status can be saved if users visit the site again after several days. Such a cookie may likewise store users' interests, which are used for audience measurement or marketing purposes. “Third-party cookies” are cookies offered by providers other than the controller operating the online offering (otherwise, if they are only the controller's own cookies, they are referred to as “first-party cookies”).
We may use temporary and permanent cookies and explain this in our privacy policy.
If users do not want cookies to be stored on their computer, they are asked to deactivate the corresponding option in their browser's system settings. Stored cookies can be deleted in the browser's system settings. Excluding cookies may restrict the functionality of this online offering.
A general objection to the use of cookies employed for online marketing purposes can be declared for a large number of services, especially in the case of tracking, via the US site http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the EU site http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ . Furthermore, the storage of cookies can be prevented by switching them off in the browser settings. Please note that in this case it may not be possible to use all the functions of this online offering.
Erasure of data
The data processed by us are erased or their processing is restricted in accordance with Art. 17 and 18 DSGVO. Unless expressly stated in this privacy policy, the data stored by us are erased as soon as they are no longer required for their intended purpose and no statutory retention obligations prevent their erasure. Where the data are not erased because they are required for other, legally permissible purposes, their processing is restricted. This means that the data are blocked and not processed for other purposes. This applies, for example, to data that must be retained for reasons of commercial or tax law.
Under the statutory requirements in Germany, data are retained in particular for 10 years pursuant to §§ 147 para. 1 AO, 257 para. 1 nos. 1 and 4, para. 4 HGB (books, records, management reports, accounting vouchers, commercial books, documents relevant for taxation, etc.) and for 6 years pursuant to § 257 para. 1 nos. 2 and 3, para. 4 HGB (commercial letters).
Under the statutory requirements in Austria, data are retained in particular for 7 years pursuant to § 132 para. 1 BAO (accounting documents, vouchers/invoices, accounts, vouchers, business papers, statements of income and expenditure, etc.), for 22 years in connection with real estate and for 10 years for documents relating to electronically supplied services, telecommunications, radio and television services provided to non-business customers in EU member states and for which the One Stop Shop (OSS) is used.
Business-related processing
In addition, we process
- contract data (e.g., subject matter of the contract, term, customer category).
- payment data (e.g., bank details, payment history)
of our customers, prospective customers and business partners for the purpose of providing contractual services, service and customer care, marketing, advertising and market research.
Order processing in the online shop and customer account
We process our customers' data in the context of ordering processes in our online shop in order to enable them to select and order the chosen products and services, and to pay for them and have them delivered or performed.
The data processed include master data, communication data, contract data and payment data, and the persons affected by the processing include our customers, prospective customers and other business partners. Processing takes place for the purpose of providing contractual services in the context of operating an online shop, invoicing, delivery and customer service. For this we use session cookies to store the contents of the shopping basket and permanent cookies to store the login status.
Processing takes place on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b (carrying out ordering processes) and c (legally required archiving) DSGVO. The information marked as required is necessary to establish and perform the contract. We disclose the data to third parties only in the context of delivery and payment, or within the scope of statutory permissions and obligations towards legal advisers and authorities. The data are processed in third countries only if this is necessary to perform the contract (e.g. at the customer's request for delivery or payment).
Users may optionally create a user account in which they can, in particular, view their orders. During registration, users are informed of the mandatory information required. User accounts are not public and cannot be indexed by search engines. If users have closed their user account, their data relating to the user account are deleted, unless their retention is necessary for reasons of commercial or tax law in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c DSGVO. Information in the customer account remains until the account is deleted, followed by archiving where there is a legal obligation to do so. It is the users' responsibility to back up their data before the end of the contract if they have given notice of termination.
In the context of registration and subsequent logins, as well as the use of our online services, we store the IP address and the time of the respective user action. This storage is based on our legitimate interests and those of users in protection against misuse and other unauthorised use. As a rule, these data are not passed on to third parties unless this is necessary to pursue our claims or there is a legal obligation to do so pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c DSGVO.
Erasure takes place after statutory warranty and comparable obligations have expired; the need to retain the data is reviewed every three years; in the case of statutory archiving obligations, erasure takes place once these have expired (end of the retention obligation under commercial law (6 years) and tax law (10 years)).
External payment service providers
We use external payment service providers through whose platforms users and we can carry out payment transactions (e.g., each with a link to the privacy policy, Paypal (https://www.paypal.com/de/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full), Klarna (https://www.klarna.com/de/datenschutz/), Skrill (https://www.skrill.com/de/fusszeile/datenschutzrichtlinie/), Visa (https://www.visa.de/datenschutz), Mastercard (https://www.mastercard.de/de-de/datenschutz.html), American Express (https://www.americanexpress.com/de/content/privacy-policy-statement.html)).
Within the scope of fulfilling contracts, we use the payment service providers on the basis of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b. DSGVO. In all other respects, we use external payment service providers on the basis of our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f. DSGVO in order to offer our users effective and secure payment options.
The data processed by the payment service providers include inventory data, such as name and address, bank data, such as account numbers or credit card numbers, passwords, TANs and checksums, as well as contract, amount and recipient-related details. This information is required to carry out the transactions. However, the data entered are processed only by the payment service providers and stored with them. This means that we do not receive any account-related or credit-card-related information, only information confirming or declining the payment. Under certain circumstances, the payment service providers may transmit the data to credit reference agencies. The purpose of this transmission is to verify identity and creditworthiness. In this regard, we refer to the terms and conditions and privacy notices of the payment service providers.
The payment transactions are subject to the terms and conditions and privacy notices of the respective payment service providers, which can be accessed on their respective websites or transaction applications. We also refer to these for further information and for asserting rights of revocation, access and other data subject rights.
Administration, financial accounting, office organisation, contact management
We process data in the context of administrative tasks and the organisation of our business, financial accounting and compliance with legal obligations, such as archiving. In doing so, we process the same data that we process in the course of providing our contractual services. The legal bases for the processing are Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. c. DSGVO and Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f. DSGVO. Customers, prospective customers, business partners and website visitors are affected by the processing. The purpose of and our interest in the processing lie in administration, financial accounting, office organisation and the archiving of data, i.e. tasks that serve to maintain our business activities, perform our duties and provide our services. The deletion of data with regard to contractual services and contractual communication corresponds to the information given for these processing activities.
In this context, we disclose or transmit data to the tax authorities, advisers such as tax advisers or auditors, as well as other fee collection bodies and payment service providers.
Furthermore, on the basis of our business interests, we store information on suppliers, event organisers and other business partners, e.g. for the purpose of contacting them later. As a matter of principle, we store these data, which are mostly company-related, permanently.
Data protection information for the application process
We process applicant data only for the purpose of and within the scope of the application process in accordance with the statutory requirements. Applicant data are processed to fulfil our (pre-)contractual obligations within the scope of the application process within the meaning of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b. DSGVO and Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f. DSGVO if the data processing becomes necessary for us, e.g. in the context of legal proceedings (in Germany, § 26 BDSG also applies).
The application process requires applicants to provide us with their applicant data. The necessary applicant data are marked if we offer an online form; otherwise they result from the job descriptions and, as a rule, include personal details, postal and contact addresses and the documents belonging to the application, such as cover letter, CV and certificates. In addition, applicants may voluntarily provide us with further information.
By submitting their application to us, applicants consent to the processing of their data for the purposes of the application process in the manner and to the extent set out in this privacy policy.
Insofar as special categories of personal data within the meaning of Art. 9 Abs. 1 DSGVO are voluntarily provided as part of the application process, they are additionally processed in accordance with Art. 9 Abs. 2 lit. b DSGVO (e.g. health data, such as status as a severely disabled person, or ethnic origin). Insofar as special categories of personal data within the meaning of Art. 9 Abs. 1 DSGVO are requested from applicants as part of the application process, they are additionally processed in accordance with Art. 9 Abs. 2 lit. a DSGVO (e.g. health data, if these are necessary for the exercise of the profession).
Where available, applicants can submit their applications to us using an online form on our website. The data are transmitted to us in encrypted form in accordance with the state of the art.
Applicants can also send us their applications by email. In this case, however, please note that emails are generally not sent in encrypted form and that applicants must ensure encryption themselves. We therefore cannot accept any responsibility for the transmission path of the application between the sender and receipt on our server and therefore recommend using an online form or sending the application by post. Instead of applying via the online form or by email, applicants still have the option of sending us their application by post.
If an application is successful, the data provided by the applicants may be further processed by us for the purposes of the employment relationship. Otherwise, if the application for a vacancy is unsuccessful, the applicants’ data are deleted. Applicants’ data are also deleted if an application is withdrawn, which applicants are entitled to do at any time.
Subject to a justified revocation by the applicants, deletion takes place after a period of six months has elapsed, so that we can answer any follow-up questions regarding the application and meet our obligations to provide evidence under the Equal Treatment Act (Gleichbehandlungsgesetz). Invoices for any reimbursement of travel expenses are archived in accordance with tax law requirements.
Comments and posts
When users leave comments or other posts, their IP addresses may be stored for 7 days on the basis of our legitimate interests within the meaning of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f. DSGVO. This is done for our own protection in case someone leaves unlawful content in comments and posts (insults, prohibited political propaganda, etc.). In this case, we ourselves may be held liable for the comment or post and therefore have an interest in the identity of the author.
Furthermore, we reserve the right, on the basis of our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f. DSGVO, to process users’ details for the purpose of spam detection.
On the same legal basis, in the case of surveys, we reserve the right to store users’ IP addresses for the duration of the survey and to use cookies in order to prevent multiple voting.
The data provided in comments and posts are stored by us permanently until the users object.
Contacting us
When users contact us (e.g. via contact form, email, telephone or social media), the information they provide is processed for the purpose of handling and processing the contact request pursuant to Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b) DSGVO. Users’ details may be stored in a customer relationship management system (“CRM system”) or a comparable system for organising enquiries.
We delete enquiries once they are no longer required. We review the necessity every two years; statutory archiving obligations also apply.
Newsletter
With the following information, we inform you about the content of our newsletter as well as the registration, dispatch and statistical evaluation procedures and your rights to object. By subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to receive it and to the procedures described.
Content of the newsletter: We send newsletters, emails and other electronic notifications containing promotional information (hereinafter “newsletter”) only with the consent of the recipients or with statutory permission. If the contents of the newsletter are specifically described when registering for it, they are decisive for the users’ consent. In all other respects, our newsletters contain information about our services and about us.
Double opt-in and logging: Registration for our newsletter takes place in a so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that after registering, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that no one can register using someone else’s email address. Newsletter registrations are logged in order to be able to prove the registration process in accordance with legal requirements. This includes storing the time of registration and of confirmation, as well as the IP address. Changes to your data stored with the mailing service provider are likewise logged.
Registration data: To subscribe to the newsletter, it is sufficient to provide your email address. Optionally, we ask you to provide a name so that we can address you personally in the newsletter.
The newsletter is sent and its success measured on the basis of the recipients’ consent pursuant to Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a, Art. 7 DSGVO in conjunction with § 7 Abs. 2 Nr. 3 UWG or, if consent is not required, on the basis of our legitimate interests in direct marketing pursuant to Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f. DSGVO in conjunction with § 7 Abs. 3 UWG.
The registration process is logged on the basis of our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO. Our interest lies in using a user-friendly and secure newsletter system that serves our business interests, meets users’ expectations and also allows us to prove consent.
Cancellation/revocation – You can cancel receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent. You will find a link to cancel the newsletter at the end of each newsletter. We may store unsubscribed email addresses for up to three years on the basis of our legitimate interests before deleting them, in order to be able to prove consent previously given. The processing of these data is limited to the purpose of a possible defence against claims. An individual request for deletion is possible at any time, provided that the former existence of consent is confirmed at the same time.
Newsletter – Mailchimp
The newsletter is sent using the mailing service provider “MailChimp”, a newsletter mailing platform of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. You can view the mailing service provider’s privacy policy here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/. The Rocket Science Group LLC d/b/a Mailchimp is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/list). The mailing service provider is used on the basis of our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO and a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 Abs. 3 S. 1 DSGVO.
The mailing service provider may use the recipients’ data in pseudonymised form, i.e. without assignment to a user, to optimise or improve its own services, e.g. for the technical optimisation of the dispatch and presentation of the newsletters or for statistical purposes. However, the mailing service provider does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them itself or to pass the data on to third parties.
Newsletter – success measurement
The newsletters contain a so-called “web beacon”, i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from our server when the newsletter is opened or, if we use a mailing service provider, from its server. In the course of this retrieval, technical information, such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and the time of retrieval, is initially collected.
This information is used for the technical improvement of the services on the basis of the technical data or the target groups and their reading behaviour on the basis of their retrieval locations (which can be determined using the IP address) or access times. The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our aim nor, if one is used, that of the mailing service provider to monitor individual users. Rather, the evaluations serve to help us recognise the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to revoke the success measurement separately; in this case, the entire newsletter subscription must be cancelled.
Hosting and email dispatch
The hosting services we use serve to provide the following services: infrastructure and platform services, computing capacity, storage space and database services, email dispatch, security services and technical maintenance services, which we use for the purpose of operating this online offering.
In doing so, we or our hosting provider process inventory data, contact data, content data, contract data, usage data, meta and communication data of customers, prospective customers and visitors to this online offering on the basis of our legitimate interests in the efficient and secure provision of this online offering pursuant to Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO in conjunction with Art. 28 DSGVO (conclusion of a data processing agreement).
Our online shop is operated on Shopify (Shopify International Ltd., 2nd Floor 1-2 Victoria Buildings, Haddington Road, Dublin 4, D04 XN32, Ireland). We run the analysis of the shop search (see below) ourselves on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen.
Shop search
When you use the search function in our shop, your browser transmits the search term entered, the number of results and the page accessed to our own server (api.growkit.io). No cookie is set and no identifier is assigned. We evaluate the search terms in aggregated form in order to improve our product range and our content. For technical reasons, the server receives your IP address in the process. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving our offering (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO).
Consent management (Usercentrics)
To manage your consents, we use the consent management platform of Usercentrics GmbH, Sendlinger Straße 7, 80331 München. In the process, your consent decision, the time of the decision and technical information about your device (e.g. browser) are processed and stored in your browser. The legal basis is Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. c DSGVO in conjunction with Art. 7 Abs. 1 DSGVO (proof of consent). You can change your selection at any time via the cookie settings.
Google Analytics
With your consent (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO, § 25 Abs. 1 TDDDG), we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (“Google”). Google Analytics is only loaded once you have given your consent in the cookie banner. You can withdraw your consent there at any time with effect for the future. Google uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie about the use of the online offering by users is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/list).
Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate the use of our online offering by users, to compile reports on the activities within this online offering and to provide us with further services associated with the use of this online offering and the use of the internet. Pseudonymous user profiles may be created from the processed data.
We use Google Analytics only with IP anonymisation activated. This means that Google truncates users’ IP addresses within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.
The IP address transmitted by the user’s browser is not merged with other Google data. Users can prevent cookies from being stored by adjusting the settings of their browser software accordingly; users can also prevent the collection by Google of the data generated by the cookie and relating to their use of the online offering, as well as the processing of these data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
Further information on Google’s use of data and on settings and objection options can be found in Google’s privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads) and in the settings for the display of advertisements by Google (https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated).
Users’ personal data are deleted or anonymised after 14 months.
Google Ads and conversion measurement
With your consent (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO, § 25 Abs. 1 TDDDG), we use the services of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”).
Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/list).
We use the Google Ads online marketing procedure to place adverts in the Google advertising network (e.g. in search results, in videos, on websites, etc.) so that they are shown to users who are presumed to be interested in the adverts. This allows us to display adverts for and within our online offering in a more targeted manner, so that users are only presented with adverts that potentially match their interests. If, for example, a user is shown adverts for products in which they have shown an interest on other online offerings, this is referred to as “remarketing”. For these purposes, when our website and other websites on which the Google advertising network is active are accessed, Google directly executes a Google code and so-called (re)marketing tags (invisible graphics or code, also referred to as “web beacons”) are integrated into the website. With their help, an individual cookie, i.e. a small file, is stored on the user’s device (comparable technologies may also be used instead of cookies). This file records which websites the user has visited, which content they are interested in and which offers the user has clicked on, as well as technical information about the browser and operating system, referring websites, time of visit and other information on the use of the online offering.
We also receive an individual “conversion cookie”. The information obtained with the help of the cookie is used by Google to compile conversion statistics for us. However, we only learn the anonymous total number of users who clicked on our advert and were redirected to a page bearing a conversion tracking tag. We do not, however, receive any information with which users can be personally identified.
Users’ data are processed pseudonymously within the Google advertising network. This means, for example, that Google does not store and process users’ names or email addresses, but processes the relevant data on a cookie basis within pseudonymous user profiles. This means that, from Google’s perspective, the adverts are not managed and displayed for a specifically identified person, but for the cookie holder, regardless of who that cookie holder is. This does not apply if a user has expressly permitted Google to process the data without this pseudonymisation. The information collected about users is transmitted to Google and stored on Google’s servers in the USA.
Further information on Google’s use of data and on settings and objection options can be found in Google’s privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads) and in the settings for the display of advertisements by Google (https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated).
Online presences in social media
We maintain online presences within social networks and platforms in order to communicate with the customers, prospective customers and users active there and to inform them about our services there. When the respective networks and platforms are accessed, the terms and conditions and data processing guidelines of their respective operators apply.
Unless otherwise stated in our privacy policy, we process users’ data if they communicate with us within the social networks and platforms, e.g. write posts on our online presences or send us messages.
Integration of third-party services and content
Within our online offering, on the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation of our online offering within the meaning of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f. DSGVO), we use content or service offerings from third-party providers in order to integrate their content and services, such as videos or fonts (hereinafter uniformly referred to as “content”).
This always presupposes that the third-party providers of this content perceive the IP address of the users, as without the IP address they would not be able to send the content to their browsers. The IP address is therefore required for displaying this content. We endeavour to use only content whose respective providers use the IP address solely for delivering the content. Third-party providers may also use so-called pixel tags (invisible graphics, also referred to as “web beacons”) for statistical or marketing purposes. The “pixel tags” can be used to evaluate information such as visitor traffic on the pages of this website. The pseudonymous information may also be stored in cookies on the users’ device and may contain, among other things, technical information about the browser and operating system, referring websites, time of visit and other information on the use of our online offering, and may also be linked to such information from other sources.
Vimeo
