The biodynamic agriculture movement, which has since spread all over the world, began with the Agriculture Course given in Koberwitz near Breslau in 1924. Generations of farmers have used these lectures by Rudolf Steiner to familiarise themselves with the spirit and foundations of this farming method. With the ninth edition, the course appears in a substantially revised version. The entire text has been newly edited. For lectures 5 to 8, for the answers to questions and for the founding of the Experimental Circle, Lilly Kolisko's shorthand records were consulted and compared with the typescripts and, where necessary, with earlier editions.
The structure of the volume is new, and notes of conversations and documents have been added, among them the previously unknown resolution of the farmers on founding the Experimental Circle. The notes section has also been completely revised and expanded. Together with the accompanying illustrations and facsimiles, the new edition also documents the historical context of this far-reaching pioneering achievement by Rudolf Steiner.
