Mäusdorfer Rottelenker (preparation, Brunnenhof)
The Mäusdorfer Rottelenker was developed by Christian von Wistinghausen and Wolfgang Scheibe to speed up the decomposition processes of slurry, manure and compost and to improve their quality. The preparation promotes a harmonious breakdown that supports humus build-up and increases nutrient availability in the soil.
Composition and production
The preparation is based on Maria Thun's barrel compost and is further enriched by adding bentonite, rock dusts and herbs. It matures in a birch pit, where the cow pat material is turned several times and treated with the compost preparations. Before drying, the preparation is mixed with valerian extract and then ground into a fine powder.
Application
The Mäusdorfer Rottelenker can be used in various ways:
- On compost heaps and slurry: 10 g per cubic metre of compost or slurry.
- On mulch and crop residues: To promote decomposition and humus formation.
- In deep-litter housing and horticulture: Before sowing and after harvest to improve soil structure and nutrient supply.
The preparation can either be scattered dry or soaked in water and then sprayed. It is suitable for all compostable materials and promotes even and faster decomposition.
Effect
Using the Mäusdorfer Rottelenker speeds up decomposition, activates soil life and intensifies humus formation. This leads to greater soil fertility and a better supply of nutrients to the plants.
Storage
The preparation should be stored in a cool, dry place, ideally in a container surrounded by coconut fibre or peat, in order to regulate moisture and preserve the quality of the preparation over the long term.
